You will have to pay extra for mini-bar and sex toys. The love chairs are interesting items, you can find some positions not listed in the kama sutra using these. The rooms are usually rented for periods of 12 hours although some are for as short as 6. Pricing varies greatly. Those in Copacabana and Ipanema can be pricy by Brazilian standards for the top suites. They will be over US$150 if you eat and drink as well ( each room usually has at a minimum a small private dining room attached )
The larger suites have king sized beds (sometimes 2) and are mainly used for orgies. In which case sharing the cost makes it more reasonable (and more fun). Smaller rooms will cost you closer to $50 per period. It is best to use these motels during weekdays as Friday thru Sunday the rates and/or period will change.

In Copacabana there are 2 of reasonable quality, Praia Lido and Vanity. Both are expensive and nothing special. The high price is due to the fact that they are convenient and sometimes you just can't wait an extra 20 minutres to get her naked.
If you are prepared for a 15- 20 minute taxi ride then you can head through Ipanema and Leblon and arrive at Avenida Nieymayer. Close to and just past the Sheraton hotel are 2 very good motels - Sinless and Shalimar, with reasonable prices. Another 5 minutes down this road and you come to VIPs ( see photos ) This is also recommended, it is used by many adult websites ( such as Mike in Brazil) and porn film makers.
There are more in the City Centre and further out on the outskirts of town where prices are much lower but the quality still good. However if you aren't driving the taxi fare will be expensive. If you are going as a group it could be worth considering.

Most locals role up in their own car and each room normaly has its own garage space but you will be turning up in a taxi. Not a problem. You will choose your room from a list just like a Macdonalds drive thru. The prices will be listed. You will be given the key and the taxi will take you to the room. Do not even think about taking a girl under 18 as quite often your partner will be asked to show her ID.
Once in the room you will normaly see a dining room area that contains a minibar. The door you entered thru you can usually leave unlocked. The door into the bedroom is the one you lock. Food etc can be ordered via phone. When the waiter comes with your order he will ring the bell and then enter the dining area. When he leaves he will ring the bell again to let you know he has finished. This allows for privacy, but of course some girls like to walk around naked in front of the waiters or be seen in action by them. There are even stories of waiters being asked to join in!!
When you are ready to leave you ask for the bill from reception. The waiter will come and you pay him and get a proof of payment slip which you show on the way out. They will also order you a taxi. Assuming you don't speak portugese your girl can arrange all this. Expect to tip around 10%
