Rio Hotel Information

Ok, the main reason you've come to Brazil is to meet the gorgeous women. But you may be interested in doing some of the sites. The first two that everyone knows about are Sugar Loaf and the statue of Christ (Corcovado). These are both worth seeing. It is best to visit Sugar Loaf first because the views from Corcovado are more spectacular and Sugar Loaf would then be a slight disappointment.
Carnival - We don't need to tell you much about this, it's world famous. That is the problem. The demand is so great that prices rise steeply for everything - hotels, apartments, restaurants. Even the hawkers and vendors on the beach and sidewalk increase their prices. At Carnival time Rio does become more expensive. Unless you really do want to see the carnival we recommended coming when the carnival is NOT on. If you really do want to see it and do want tickets to the main parade ( in the sambadrome- where they all parade) then check out the Carnival page. You should book early. We can obtain tickets for you.
Two areas close to Rio de Janeiro ( within 3 hours drive ) that we particularly recommend - Buzios/Cabo Frio and Angras dos Reis. Or if you want to get away from the heat for a whileand won't miss the beach then a two- three hour drive on the Via Dutra higway to Sao Paulo is the IItatia national park. This is quite highup and has a couple of peaks (the Agulhas Negras) over 2000 metres, and in summer it can be a little cooler and less humid than Rio. You could stay in a Pousada in the small town of Penedo with your girl and chill out. See the itinerary of some of our Rio City Tours. If you have a particular plan/destination in mind not covered by these tours we can arrange it for you. Using local travel agencies prices will be very competitive. |
